How To Give

Brown’s Graduate School attracts and trains students who are poised to add to the larger world of knowledge in so many valuable ways: championing freedom of expression, advancing technological innovation, and making societal improvements possible. Applications to the Graduate School now exceed 7,000 annually, a near doubling since the Plan for Academic Enrichment was instituted.

Your Annual Fund gift provides graduate students in all disciplines with the opportunity to conduct rigorous research and engage in interdisciplinary dialogue with colleagues around the nation and our world, receive stipends and funding for conference travel and field work, and team with renowned faculty partners. These are tomorrow's leaders, and your generosity nurtures their Brown education so that they will make lasting contributions—whether creative, scientific, or analytical—to a diverse range of fields and endeavors.

“I was drawn to the M.F.A. program’s emphasis on creative and intellectual exploration, interdisciplinary arts, and cross-genre writing. Reading books written by the program’s faculty (Forrest Gander, C.D. Wright, and others) and recent graduates—particularly Ben Lerner—made my excitement about the program grow even more.”

"My professors have opened my eyes to to the possiblity of doing work that blends numerical analysis and probability by applying techniques from one to the other. There are many more fields that I have yet to encounter, and many more methods to explore. This varied subject matter will also result in infinite career possibilites, which is really exciting to me."
